Jetour Dashing (2024) Price & Specs

Chinese brand Jetour is set to launch in South Africa, with one of its first models being the Jetour Dashing. Here’s how much this 5-seater crossover will cost you…

Yes, another Chinese brand is launching in South Africa: meet Jetour. Owned by the Chery Group but describing itself as an “independent brand”, the newcomer will kick off its local operations with a pair of crossovers: the Jetour Dashing and the Jetour X70 Plus.

We’re done some digging and have unearthed pricing for the former. From what we understand, the local Dashing line-up will comprise 2 derivatives at launch, each powered by a turbocharged 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine sending 115 kW and 230 Nm to the front wheels via a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The front end is dominated by slim headlamps and an intricate grille design.

Our information suggests the Dashing 1.5T Momentum will be priced at R449 900, while the Dashing 1.5T Deluxe will come in R30 000 higher at R479 900. For the record, the Dashing measures 4 590 mm from front to rear (with a wheelbase of 2 720 mm), making it around 90 mm longer than the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro (with an extra 50 mm between its axles, too).

While local specifications have yet to be announced, we expect the Momentum grade to include features such as 19-inch alloy wheels, an electrically operated tailgate, leather upholstery and a touchscreen infotainment system. The Deluxe trim level, meanwhile, will likely add items like wireless smartphone charging, a panoramic sunroof and various extra driver-assistance features (blind-spot detection, lane-departure assist and the like).

The Dashing is a 5-seater crossover (note, we believe SA might receive a different infotainment screen).

From what we understand, Jetour products (just like those from the Chery brand) will ship standard with a 10-year/1-million km warranty specific to the engine. No officials details are yet available, but we’d speculate this extra cover will be linked to the original owner.

The Dashing is furthermore expected to feature a 5-year/150 000 km vehicle warranty and a 5-year/60 000 km service plan. Jetour South Africa says it has already set up 40 dealerships across the country and started building up stock of spare parts at its headquarters in Johannesburg.

We’ll update this story with confirmed specification details once announced…
